--------------- For the 2021-2022 school year, Ms. Miller began teaching at at Chamblee High School in the City of Chamblee an "Inside-the-Perimeter" suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. To this day, Ms. Miller teaches some combination of courses in the Computer Science Pathway, the Programming Pathway, and Engineering Pathway at Chamblee High School. It was formerly called Chamblee Charter High School in the Dekalb County School District. Ms. MIller began teaching in 2001. Before that she worked in public interest, bankruptcy, and social justice law. She also worked in advertising, technology, communications, graphic design for a television station, and the United States Air Force. She has attended and taught computer science at community colleges. Ms. Miller has attended the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Georgia. She has graduated from the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School, earning a Congressional Appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Communications at The Florida State University. She earned her Masters of Education in Special Education at the University of North Florida. She completed her Juris Doctorate at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. Currently, she is a non-practicing attorney in the State of Georgia. Outside of school Ms. Miller is likely creating something artistic with traditional art supplies or creating things on the computer, reading, listening to music, refereeing youth soccer, coaching JV girls soccer, swimming, or attending one of her child's many many activities. As of 2021, Ms. Miller is a Georgia Certified Teacher of Computer Science, Engineering & Technology, Business Education, and Special Education with Gifted and ESOL Endorsements. From 2015 to 2021, Ms. Miller taught 4 years as an elementary school instructional technology teacher and 2 years as an interrelated special education teacher. From 2010 to 2016, Ms. Miller was a paralegal, clerk, or attending law school, In 2016, she passed the State of Georgia Bar Exam becoming a licensed attorney, now on inactive status. From 2001 to 2015, she taught a variety of special education positions in both public and private schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. From 2001 to 2003, Ms. Miller was an adjunct professor in the CIS department at Florida Community College Jacksonville, Florida teaching web programming. From 1999 to 2000, Ms. Miller worked for American Online, when "the AOL was the internet" to many people. Ms. Miller has also worked in tutoring, test prep, advertising, telephone operator, telemarketing, retail at CompUSA, office furniture installation, fast food (Taco Bell), retail, and television production, animation, and graphic design. Ms. Miller attended the United States Air Force Academy and the Air Force Academy Prep School in Colorado Springs, Colorado after high school graduation. In high school, as a freshman she was a television advertising producer. As a sophomore she took and completed two dual enrollment courses in art and computer science. She won numerous fine arts awards and captained the varsity girls soccer team. She still holds her high school's single season scoring record. |
