Why draw a Fox and a Raven and a Tree and a Background?

Aesop's fables have moral lessons at the end of the story. In the Fox and the Crow, Crow finds a piece of cheese. Fox wants the cheese but Crow is too high in the tree. Fox thinks of a plan to trick Crow into dropping the cheese. Fox flatters Crow several times. First Fox tells Crow her feathers are beautiful, then her eyes. Crow is not tricked. Then Fox begs Crow to sing he beautiful song and prove she has the best voice in the forrest. Crow falls for Fox's trick, opens her beak to sing, and the cheese falls to the ground where Fox picks it up and eats it.
In some versions of the story, Crow finds the cheese or steals the cheese. Sometimes the cheese is cake. Ravens and Crows are the same black feathered bird with iridescent shimmering rainbow colors feathers. Crows/Ravens are not known for their beautiful voices and make a caw caw sound more than songs. That is part of the joke. The Crow resists the first two attempts at flattery/trickery which have to do with Crow's eyes and feathers.
