Kindergarten has a problem!!! What is Kindergarten's Problem?
- Yes, Kindergarten has school supplies loose all over the place!!!
- How can you solve this messy problem?
- Can you build something to help us organize? What ideas do you have?
- This STEM Challenge, you are being asked to design and create a supply caddy - a holder - for all of our loose school supplies like our pencils, crayons, markers, and scissors that you have all over your work space.
- Your supply caddy holder needs to be created out of things you have at home: like paper, cardboard, tape, toilet paper tubes. Be sure to ask mom or dad if it’s OK to use stuff.
- Your hands are going to do the inventing, the making, the building, the testing…all of it.
What ideas do you have to solve Kindergarten's messy problem?
Can you show us your idea drawings?

Record your video responses in Class Dojo (if not already sign up) or Flipgrid at this link (Flipgrid link)
What do I do?
Step 1 - you need to come up with some ideas.
Close your eyes and imagine what kind of things a holder might need. Any ideas? What can you build to help organize your school supplies? You can write, draw, or tell about your ideas here in Class Dojo video. After that, go and gather some supplies for building your idea next class. Record your answer in Class Dojo. |
Step 2 — Now you build your idea. Next, you will test your build - prototype.
Then, you will fix, or make improvements. You can show and tell us your build, your improvement ideas, and your second build. Share your project and improvements in Class Dojo. |
What if I come late or get confused?
Don't worry. Ms. Lee, Ms. Shaver, Ms. Maner, and Ms. Miller will be available in Zoom (link in Class Dojo) to answer any questions you have during your STEM Challenge. Have Fun!!!!

Ruby was always full of ideas. Will her brothers and family help her build one of them? Ruby uses the basic steps of the STEM - engineering design process to help her build amazing solutions to problems she sees in her daily life.
